Free Motion Embroidery Workshop with Elisabeth Hamlyn: 4 Hours @ £70

Join Elisabeth Hamlyn for a relaxed, creative 4-hour workshop designed to inspire and build your confidence in free motion embroidery. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore a new technique, experiment with your sewing machine, and enjoy a few hours of mindful making.

​

You’ll learn how to “draw” with your sewing machine as Elisabeth guides you through the basics of free motion embroidery, sharing plenty of ideas, tips, and templates to get you started. There will be a selection of fabric scraps available to use, but you’re very welcome to bring along any special fabrics you’d like to incorporate into your work.

​

Please bring your own sewing machine (or use one of ours), ensuring it is fitted with a free motion embroidery foot and has the ability to drop the feed dogs. This workshop is suitable for those who are already confident using a sewing machine, but no prior experience of free motion embroidery is needed.

​

By the end of the session, you’ll have created a unique embroidered piece that can be turned into a practical item, such as a utility bag or a decorative pocket for a tote. Come along, get creative, and see where your stitching takes you.

Sew Your Perfect Trousers - two styles, endless possibilities. Build your handmade wardrobe with a pair of beautifully made trousers - designed and stitched by you! Choose from Straight Leg or Barrel Leg, each offering a flattering fit and endless versatility.

 

The Raglan Sleeve Blouse  is perfect for beginners, this class guides you through making a simple raglan-sleeve blouse. You’ll learn to sew a neck facing, create a keyhole opening, and finish the sleeves with a wide elastic cuff. Choose between long or ?-length sleeves and adjust the blouse length to suit your style.

 

By the end, you’ll have a pair of trousers and a top that not only fit beautifully but reflect your personal style - and the skills to make many more! Please note: Fabric is not included in the course fee. Pop into the shop for expert advice on fabric selection, quantity, and all the lovely options available.

 

Utility Bag Workshop:  1 x 3 hours @ 60.00

The Perfect Collar Class 3 hours @ 60.00

Ready to take your garment construction from "homemade" to “ professional’’ Join us for this informative class designed specifically for confident intermediate and advanced sewers. If you pride yourself on precision seam allowances and flawless topstitching, this is the challenge you’ve been waiting for!

 

Unlock the secrets of the professional shirt collar. You’ll learn to construct a crisp collar with a separate stand and master the art of sewing buttonholes. Create a chic "Collar Bib" (or Dickey)—the ultimate wardrobe hack for layering under jumpers without the bulk.

 

You will need to bring 50cm of lightweight cotton (perfect for using up those precious scraps!). And 50cm of lightweight iron on interfacing.
