Whether youre just starting out or have years of experience, this is the perfect opportunity to spend uninterrupted time working on your own project while meeting fellow sewing enthusiasts. Bring your own sewing machine, settle in and enjoy a day of stitching, chatting, sharing ideas and inspiring one another.

 

Venue:

Mickleham Village Hall, Dell close Mickleham RH5 6EE

What to bring: your sewing machine and equipment, your sewing project, a packed lunch, any fabric, patterns or haberdashery that you might need.

 

Whats included:

Your own table, access to a power socket

Shared irons and ironing boards

Best of all, it’s completely FREE! You will, however, need to book your place so that we know how many helpers we have joining us.

 

Everyone is welcome to come along and help us turn our pre-made bunting flags into something truly fabulous! Please note that this is a sewing day rather than a sewing lesson, so you will need to be comfortable using a sewing machine and sewing independently.

 

I have nine sewing machines available in the studio, but as we’re hoping to get as many people involved as possible, it would be fantastic if you could bring along your own machine if you have one. We’ll spread ourselves out between the sewing rooms at the back of the shop and, if necessary, around the big table in the shop.

 

It’s going to be a lovely, sociable day of sewing, chatting and creating something wonderful together — I do hope you’ll come along and join in the fun!

Please note: The course does not include the fabrics for the tote bag, cushion and pj shorts. You will need to purchase kits that we have or select fabrics of your choice. Pop into the shop for advice and help with your fabric choice.

The Easy-Fit Shirt - stylish, comfortable & handmade by you.

 

Looking to add a versatile, relaxed-fit shirt to your handmade wardrobe? This fashionable, easy-fit style is perfect for layering, dressing up, or keeping casual. A true staple you'll wear again and again.

 

This workshop is designed for confident intermediate sewists looking to expand their garment-making skills.

 

During the course, you’ll learn how to:

• Construct a neat, professional collar,

• Assemble a faced back yoke for a clean finish,

• Create a precise button stand and

• Master buttonholes with confidence.

 

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a beautiful, wearable shirt — plus new skills you can apply to future sewing projects!

 

Please note: Fabric is not included. Visit the shop beforehand for expert advice and a lovely selection of fabrics to suit your project. Sewing patterns and instructions are not included in this class. We work with independent pattern brands to create your garment.

Looking for a relaxed and inspiring space to work on your sewing? Our Social Sewing Workshop offers the perfect opportunity to bring along your own project, enjoy a friendly atmosphere, and spend time with fellow sewing enthusiasts.

 

You'll have full access to the studio’s sewing machines, overlockers, and cutting tables — plus, I’ll be on hand throughout the session to offer guidance, advice, and helpful tips if you need a little extra support. Whether you’re finishing a long-standing project, starting something new, or simply looking for a sociable sewing day, this workshop is all about enjoying your craft in good company.

Sew Your Perfect Trousers - two styles, endless possibilities. Build your handmade wardrobe with a pair of beautifully tailored trousers - designed and stitched by you! Choose from Straight Leg or Barrel Leg, each offering a flattering fit and endless versatility.

 

The Raglan Sleeve Blouse  is perfect for beginners, this class guides you through making a simple raglan-sleeve blouse. You’ll learn to sew a neck facing, create a keyhole back opening, and finish the sleeves with a wide elastic cuff. Choose between long or ¾-length sleeves and adjust the blouse length to suit your style.

 

By the end, you’ll have a pair of trousers and a top that not only fit beautifully but reflect your personal style - and the skills to make many more!
