The Joy of Sewing — More Than Just a Hobby

For me, sewing isn’t just something I do — it’s who I am. I feel incredibly lucky to have turned my passion into a career, and even more fortunate to share that passion every day with the wonderful customers and students who walk through the doors of Tracey’s Sewing Room.

My world is filled with creativity — the hum of sewing machines, the colours and textures of beautiful fabrics, the satisfaction of turning an idea into something real and wearable. Whether I’m stitching up a new outfit for myself, creating something special for my children or grandchildren, or guiding a student through their very first sewing project, this craft continues to fill my life with joy and purpose.
Sewing is my therapy — mindful, absorbing, and endlessly creative. It doesn’t matter what the weather’s doing, or how much time I have — there’s always a project waiting, and each one leads naturally to the next. There are no limits, only new ideas and inspiration around every corner.
If you’ve ever thought about trying something new, I warmly invite you to join our wonderful sewing community here in Dorking. Whether you're a complete beginner or already hooked, there’s a place for you at Tracey’s Sewing Room — where creativity, friendship and learning come together, one stitch at a time.
